Project : Christopher C. Ford Industrial Park
Location : U.S. Highway 27 and Florida Turnpike, Lake County, Florida
Broad scope geotechnical investigations for a large county owned industrial property on Hwy 19 and U.S. 27. Included investigations of proposed roadways, stormwater retention system, mass grading recommendations, and sinkhole assessment.
Project : Central Packing Company
Location : Center Hill, Lake County, Florida
Environmental, geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations in support of facility expansion and upgrade of on-site wastewater treatment and disposal facilities for a meat packing plant. Included extensive water quality testing, estimation of site hydraulic capacity using groundwater flow modeling and development of a groundwater monitoring plan.
Project : South Lake Regional Hospital and Associated Development
Location : Clermont, Lake County, Florida
Geotechnical investigations and environmental site assessment for regional hospital facility and associated medical offices and training center.
Project : Adult Congregate Living Facility
Location : Lake County, Florida
Geotechnical investigations for multi-story assisted living facility. Consisted of foundation analysis, mass grading, fill suitability assessment, pavement design, and stormwater management.
Project : Mims Citrus Growers
Location : Brevard County
Preparation of FDEP permit documents and plans for permitting of an industrial wastewater effluent sprayfield.  Conducted a hydrogeologic study for re-rating of a low rate spray application system.
Project : ACC Limerock Mine
Location : St. Catherine, Sumter County, Florida
Detailed groundwater drawdown/dewatering analysis for open pit mine using computer based groundwater flow modeling techniques. Project involved design and permitting of the proposed mine, stability analyses, groundwater modeling of drawdown impacts due to continual dewatering and design of perimeter recharge trenches to protect adjacent wetlands.

Residential

Project : Hilldale Estates Subdivision (single family)
Location : Leesburg, Lake County, Florida
Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments and remediation of arsenic contamination for a 500 acre proposed single family planned urban development.
Project : Oak Valley Subdivision (single family)
Location : Minneola, Lake County, Florida
Geotechnical investigations for large scale residential development on strongly sloping terrain. Scope included sinkhole assessment of closed form topographical depressions, overall site suitability assessment, mass grading recommendations, and stormwater system analysis and retaining wall design.
Project : Remington Residential Development (mixed use)
Location : Kissimmee, Osceola County, Florida
Geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations for a large scale residential development on low lying flood prone lands and wetlands. Scope included wetland probing, site suitability assessment, post development groundwater modeling, mass grading recommendations, pavement design, effluent disposal analysis and underdrain design.
Project : Reserve at Lakeland Square (multi-family)
Location : Kissimmee, Osceola County, Florida
Geotechnical and hydrogeologic investigations for a multi-family apartment development varied upland and lowland conditions. Scope included wetland probing, site suitability assessment, post development groundwater estimation, mapping of confining soils, mass grading recommendations, pavement design, cutoff drain design. In addition, Phase 1 and 2 environmental site assessments were conducted in accordance with ASTM and HUD regulations.
Project : Kingsridge Subdivision (single family)
Location : Clermont, Lake County, Florida
Geotechnical investigations for large scale residential development by Lennar Homes, including investigation of roadways and retention areas, mass grading, and evaluation of stormwater management alternatives.

Landfill

Project : ACMS Class I Landfill
Location : Sumterville, Sumter County, Florida
This landfill site was investigated in detail to define loose subsurface conditions, raveled areas, using SPT borings and CPT borings.  A detailed ground penetrating radar (GPR) was conducted to define subsurface anomalies prior to drilling.  Each loose subsurface zone was delineated and then a demonstration project was conducted where sand slurry was pumped under pressure into two of the subsurface anomalies for stabilization.  Following sand slurry injection, SPT and CPT borings were drilled to verify the effectiveness of the stabilization efforts.  The sand slurry injection and the post remediation drilling was attended by FDEP personnel from Tampa and Tallahassee.  The results indicated adequate subsurface stabilization for a Class 1 landfill support and the method to remediate subsurface loose zones was approved by the FDEP.  This project was successfully permitted through the Tampa FDEP in less than a year.
Project : Seminole Electric Ash Landfill
Location : Palatka, Putnum County, FL
Geotechnical engineering study to assess the geotechnical considerations for a flue gas desulfurization (FGD) landfill at the Palatka generating facility in Putnam County, Florida.  This study focused on the investigation of subsurface conditions, followed by laboratory testing of natural soil properties and existing landfill materials. Engineering evaluations are conducted addressing settlement potential, bearing capacity of foundation soils, stability of landfill slopes and groundwater considerations.  Also provided QC testing of fill soils, drainage media and subgrade during the construction process.
Project : Manatee County Class I Landfill
Location : Lena Road, Manatee County, Florida
Detailed geotechnical and environmental studies for design and permitting of Class 1 landfill expansion area.  This work included all services associated with geotechnical evaluation, including detailed soil exploration, bearing capacity, settlement and slope stability calculations. 
Project : U.S. 27 Construction and Demolition Debris Landfill
Location : Minneola, Lake County, FL
Geotechnical and environmental studies for design and permitting of a C and D landfill.  This work included all services associated with geotechnical evaluation, including detailed soil exploration, bearing capacity, settlement and slope stability calculations. Also prepared groundwater monitoring plan and directed well installations.  Directed semiannual and biennial groundwater monitoring for approximately 8 years, from landfill inception to closure.
Project : County Road 33 Class 3 Landfill
Location : Lake County, FL
Detailed geotechnical and environmental studies for design and permitting of a Class 3 landfill.  This work included all services associated with geotechnical evaluation, including detailed soil exploration, bearing capacity, settlement and slope stability calculations. Also prepared groundwater and gas monitoring plans and directed well installations.  Directed semiannual and biennial groundwater monitoring for approximately 6 years, from landfill inception to the present.

Utility/Infrastructure

Project / Location : City of Groveland, Lake County, Florida
  • Sunshine Parkway water treatment plant - Geotechnical investigations for the proposed expansion of the City water plant at Sunshine Parkway.  
  • City wide wetland monitoring – Wetland monitoring using dedicated water level data recorders as part of consumptive use permitting requirements.  Preparation of semi-annual reports for submittal to SJRWMD.  
  • Sunshine Parkway RIB site - Hydrogeologic investigation and load testing at Sunshine RIB site, for the purpose of re-rating and increasing permitted effluent disposal capacity.
  • Well drawdown impact analysis and planning for new municipal well design.
Project / Location : City of Minneola, Lake County, Florida
  • Geotechnical investigation of Water Treatment Plant including foundation analysis, stormwater retention, and pavement design.  
  • Assisted in consumptive use permitting, well design, and well construction monitoring for the City’s well nos. 6, 7 and 8.  
  • Feasibility studies for various wastewater disposal options, including septic systems, package treatment facilities and centralized sewer system.  
  • Conducted site specific soil investigations for potential municipal treatment system site.
Project / Location : City of Winter Garden, Orange County, Florida
  • Continuing services conducting geotechnical investigations and materials testing for expansion of City’s wastewater plant, public works facilities, various road construction projects and utility placement.  
  • Comprehensive reuse feasibility studies prepared as part of master planning for future reuse capacity within the city.
  • Geotechnical investigations for Crest Ave. wastewater treatment plant expansion.

  • Hydrogeologic investigations for effluent reuse disposal on Forest Lake Golf Course and A.D. Mims treatment plant.  
  • Geotechnical investigations for a network of reuse pipelines throughout the city.
  • Comprehensive reuse feasibility study prepared as part of master planning for future reuse capacity within the city.

Roadway

Project : Polk County Parkway
Location : Lakeland, Polk County
Geotechnical investigations for limited access highway located south of Lakeland, FL. Project proved challenging due to numerous crossings over phosphate mine tailing pits and required innovative geotechnical design solutions.
Project : County Road 466 Widening
Location : Town of Lady Lake, Lake County
Geotechnical investigations and environmental study for new connector road in north Lake County, FL. Included pavement analysis, pavement section design, Phase 1 ESA, ground penetrating radar and stormwater retention analysis.
Project : South Clermont Connector
Location : City of Clermont, Lake County
Geotechnical investigations for new connector road over steep terrain and natural land depressions. Included evaluation of sinkhole potential, grading recommendations, pavement analysis and stormwater retention analysis recommendations.
Project : Lake Emma Road Realignment
Location : City of Fruitland Park, Lake County
Geotechnical investigations for new connector road adjacent to natural depression/lake, including analysis of sinkhole potential, pavement analysis and stormwater retention recommendations.
Project : McKee Street Beautification
Location : City of Ocoee, Orange County
Geotechnical investigations for downtown streetscapes project, including evaluation of pavement, curbs, sidewalks, and underground utilities, and stormwater retention analysis recommendations.
Project : Oakley Seaver Road
Location : City of Clermont, Lake County
Geotechnical investigations for new connector road, including pavement analysis and stormwater retention analysis and recommendations.
Project : Ham Brown Road
